Production & Budget Management – Selected Work

Production and budget management is not just coordination; it's also the discipline of making the right decisions under pressure.

The following work demonstrates how production challenges were navigated, risks managed, and budgets controlled to deliver high-quality campaigns across multiple locations and markets.

Emirates

Fly Better Campaign Production

Production Challenge

Deliver a Wimbledon-associated campaign based on a loose creative scamp and remote direction from Dubai, with restricted access to official courts and significant weather risk during early spring in the UK.

Production Approach

Restructured the production to separate environment and talent capture, mitigating both access and weather risk. Court backplates were photographed on location, while the athlete was cast and shot in the studio against a green screen to ensure continuity and control.

Expanded the casting approach beyond professional tennis players to include high-performance fitness talent, securing the right physical presence and movement for the campaign.

This approach reduced reliance on location permissions, protected the schedule and ensured the shoot remained within budget.

Outcome

The campaign was delivered on time and within budget, protecting both schedule and creative integrity despite location and weather constraints. The restructured production removed key risks while maintaining the intended visual authenticity.

Production Leadership

Led all aspects of production, including casting strategy, location sourcing and restructuring of the shoot approach to reduce risk, maintain schedule control and deliver within budget, alongside usage rights negotiation.

Holland & Barrett #Be Stronger for Life

Production Challenge

Deliver a multi-location campaign combining stills and video within a tight 10-day production window, leaving no margin for delays or reshoots. Driven by internal approval timelines, while ensuring locations felt geographically non-specific.

Production Approach

Structured production to maximise efficiency across multiple locations, capturing five campaign assets over four shoot days.

Casting focused on real people rather than traditional talent to align with brand positioning, requiring careful coordination to ensure performance, authenticity and reliability across both stills and motion.

Locations were selected to feel non-London specific while remaining logistically achievable, reducing travel complexity and keeping production within budget.

Outcome

The campaign was delivered within a compressed timeline without compromising quality, successfully producing a cohesive set of assets across multiple locations for both still and video.

The structured approach ensured efficient use of time, crew and budget while maintaining consistency across all outputs.

Carrier Travel

Production Challenge

Create a series of high-end travel visuals representing multiple global destinations within a tightly constrained budget of approximately £12k, requiring a production approach that maximised perceived scale without increasing spend.

Production Approach

Developed a location-led strategy to replicate international destinations within close proximity to London.

Africa was captured in rural Kent, Europe in Hyde Park, Asia in Kew Gardens, and America and the Indian Ocean recreated within a location house. Careful styling, casting and framing ensured each environment felt distinct and credible.

This approach maximised budget efficiency while avoiding the cost and complexity of international production.

Outcome

Delivered a visually diverse campaign with a global look and feel within a constrained budget, enabling the client to transition away from stock imagery to a bespoke image library.

The production approach balanced creative ambition with financial discipline, achieving high production value without international travel.

ICRC – Health Care in Danger

Production Challenge

Produce a globally sensitive campaign depicting healthcare in conflict zones, where any inaccuracy would undermine both credibility and the integrity of the campaign.

Production Approach

Worked in collaboration with documentary photographer Tom Stoddart and a former ICRC war surgeon to ensure medical and environmental accuracy across all scenes.

Each scenario was carefully constructed to reflect real-world conditions, with attention to clinical detail, correct medical procedures and appropriate use of equipment.

Production required detailed planning across casting, set builds and location control to safely recreate complex and high-risk environments.

Outcome

The campaign delivered a powerful and credible portrayal of healthcare in conflict zones, maintaining authenticity while managing the practical and ethical complexities of production.

The structured approach ensured accuracy, sensitivity and consistency across all campaign assets.

Production Leadership

Full production leadership, including casting, location sourcing, set builds, crew coordination and on-set management. Oversight of medical accuracy in collaboration with specialist consultants, alongside management of timelines, usage rights, licensing and budget reconciliation.

Complex productions rarely follow a predictable path.
What defines successful delivery is the ability to make informed decisions early, manage risk with clarity and maintain control of both budget and outcome under pressure.

This work reflects an approach built on experience, navigating constraints, solving production challenges and delivering consistently across complex, multi-location campaigns.
