When Santander set out to refurbish branches across the UK, the aim was to reflect each local community through regionally relevant photography.
Over a 16-week period, I led the commissioning and production of a nationwide multi-location photography campaign, delivering imagery across 238 locations.
Working with 22 photographers based across the UK, we captured landmarks specific to each branch location, creating a body of work designed to connect customers with the places they live and work.
Each image was selected for its relevance to the surrounding area and installed as large-scale Welcome Wall artwork within newly refurbished branches.
This reflects a core principle of multi-location photography, delivering work locally while maintaining consistency at scale.

Using local photographers was central to the success of the campaign.
It allowed for:
This approach is now widely used across multi-location and global photography campaigns, where local expertise supports both quality and efficiency.
Using local photographers also supports more sustainable production practices, reducing unnecessary travel and environmental impact.
Delivering a campaign of this scale required structured production and careful budget management.
From briefing and scheduling through to delivery, I managed the full production process across all locations.
This included:
The objective was to ensure that, despite being produced across multiple locations, the work felt coherent and aligned as a single body of photography.
Given the use of the imagery within a financial institution, compliance and licensing were critical.
This ensured the work could be used confidently across all Santander branches.
Beyond the immediate rollout, the campaign created a structured library of location-based imagery.
This is a key aspect of brand library photography, where commissioned work continues to deliver value over time, rather than being limited to a single use.
This project reflects how we approach multi-location photography at Global Assignments.
We coordinate photography across locations, working with trusted local photographers while maintaining consistency through clear direction and structured production.
The focus is not only on delivery, but on ensuring the work holds together over time and across different uses.
We explore this further in our approach to global multi-location photography
